BRICKDANCE

The "Brick Choir" performs a wall-breaking dance in front of the Parliament. The Brick Choir aims to stand up—like bricks—against the practice of "building sacrifice". They seek to break a tradition found in Hungarian and other Eastern European ballads, in which a woman is walled up to ensure the structure’s stability. Contrary to popular belief, bricks are not necessarily passive or mute; the Brick Choir aims to rouse slumbering bricks with their songs and to connect with one another in a liberated, playful manner—without the cost of bloody mortar.
