NO PROBLEM

NO PROBLEM, SHE LIKES IT, 160 x 180 cm, oil, canvas, 2022.

In these works I explore the intertwining of memory and fear and the relationship between them.

No problem was commissioned by MODEM Center for Modern and Contemporary Art using the photo archive of the Déri Museum. The work was part of the ONCEUPONACITY exhibition.

My work No problem consists of two paintings and a video.

In this video, I use excerpts from Éva Ancsel's conversation entitled Hétköznapi gyávaságaink (Our Everyday Cowardice). I enter the space of photographs with my mother and my grandmother, in the crossfire of flames and extinguishers. The music for the video was composed by Kurszán Koltay.

Onceuponacity is the world of flames and fire extinguishers, where everyone is afraid. The small flames fear the fire extinguishers, the giant fire extinguishers are afraid of Ekpyrosis.

I asked my mum and grandma to go to Onceuponacity, we might destroy our spectres there, or find someone who faces them instead of us.
